Following our visit to the ruins, we will continue our route to the captivating city of Meknes. Known for its 17th-century fortifications, we will stop for lunch and have the opportunity to discover various significant sites, including the imposing walls of the medina, the grand Bab Mansour Gate, and the revered Moulay Ismail mausoleum.
After our exploration of Meknes, we will proceed directly to Fes, where you will spend the night in a traditional riad. This will offer you a chance to relax and unwind, while also experiencing the unique ambiance of a riad in the vibrant city of Fes.

After enjoying breakfast at the riad, we will embark on a fascinating exploration of Fes, the oldest city in Morocco. We will wander through its ancient alleys and narrow streets, immersing ourselves in its rich history and vibrant atmosphere.
Our tour will begin with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, where we can admire the magnificent architecture and learn about the significance of this historic site. Next, we will explore the EL-Mellah, the Jewish quarter of Fes. This area holds great cultural and historical importance as the first Mellah established in Morocco during the 16th century.

Later, you will embark on a camel ride, starting with a visit to the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people. The Gnawa have their origins in Mali, Senegal, and Sudan, and you will learn about their unique music and lifestyle.
Continuing our desert adventure, we will drive through the desert landscape to meet nomadic families and gain insights into their traditional way of life. For lunch, you will savor a delicious Berber meal, known as Berber stuffed pizza, showcasing the authentic flavors of the region.
If you choose, you can also visit the historic city of Rissani, considered the ancestral home of the Alaouite dynasty, which is the ruling royal family in Morocco. Rissani is surrounded by approximately 360 ksars, fortified villages with impressive towers, and hosts a bustling souk, an open market held three times a week. This city, once known as Sijilmassa, was a vital meeting point for salt caravans heading to Tombouctou in Mali. In Rissani, you will stroll through the vibrant souk, where various goods such as spices, vegetables, and clothing are sold.
After the visit to Rissani, we will return to the village of Merzouga. In the afternoon, an experienced camel-man will guide you on a captivating camel ride, leading you through the hidden corners of the highest sand dunes in Morocco. In Essaouira, often referred to as the “City of the Wind,” we will have the opportunity to discover its unique charm and rich cultural heritage. Our first stop is the Skala Fortress, a historic stronghold that offers panoramic views of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. As we explore the fortress, we will also admire the intricate Thuya wood carvings created by local artisans.
During our time in Essaouira, we will also visit a women’s cooperative that specializes in producing Argan oil. This precious oil is renowned for its culinary, cosmetic, and medicinal properties. Witness the traditional extraction process and learn about the significance of this valuable resource.
In the afternoon, we bid farewell to Essaouira and embark on our return journey to Marrakech. Reflect on the memories and experiences gathered throughout the day as we make our way back to the bustling city. Once in Marrakech, we will settle into our riad for the night, providing a comfortable and relaxing space to unwind and recharge.
