Upon your arrival at Casablanca Mohammed V Airport, you will be met by a representative from your tour company. This representative will assist you with the transfer to your hotel. Departure to Chefchaouen: Around 8 am, you will leave Fes and head towards Chefchaouen. The town is located in the Rif Mountains, south of the Mediterranean coastline, in northwest Morocco. The journey will take you through scenic landscapes, providing an opportunity to admire the natural beauty of the region.
Exploring Chefchaouen’s Medina: Upon arrival in Chefchaouen, you will embark on a walk to explore the charming medina. The town is famous for its traditional buildings, which are predominantly painted in shades of blue and white. You can wander through the narrow, winding streets, capturing the picturesque blue-washed walls and capturing unique photo opportunities.
Visit the Local Markets: Chefchaouen’s markets offer a wide array of native handicrafts and unique local products. Return to Fes: After exploring Chefchaouen and enjoying the town’s ambiance, you will depart in the afternoon to return to Fes. The approximate travel time back to Fes is around four to five hours. You can relax and enjoy the scenery during the journey.
Arrival in Fes: You are expected to arrive in Fes around 7:00 pm. Once you arrive, you can settle back into your riad or hotel and spend the evening at your leisure.
After breakfast, we will begin our journey to Merzouga, a desert town located in southeastern Morocco. The trip will take us through various stunning landscapes and towns. We will cross the majestic Atlas Mountains, providing us with breathtaking views and photo opportunities. Along the way, we will pass through Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” and the cedar forests of Azrou, where we may encounter wild monkeys.
We will stop for lunch in a small Berber village called Zaida, where we can enjoy the local cuisine and immerse ourselves in the Berber culture. Continuing our journey through the Atlas Mountains, we will admire the picturesque landscapes of Midelt. As we pass through the towns of Rich and Erfoud, we will begin to feel the transition into the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet.
Finally, we will reach our destination, Merzouga, where we will spend the night at a hotel located near the desert dunes. This will provide us with an authentic desert experience and the opportunity to explore the unique beauty of the Sahara.
